Interestingly enough, that was the last B-road number to be allocated in zone 2 in the original 1922 numbering scheme. The sequence carries on a lot further now (see here) but there's no obvious geographical pattern to the remaining numbers.

Thanks for that! I've done 2170 but they're on 2177 now - hopefully we won't slip too much further.

The number 47 was very significant for me when I was young for a number of reasons. So very interesting that you should post this - I never knew there was a 47 Society!

Further investigation reveals it to be an in-joke by students at Pomona College in Claremont, California: The Mystery of 47.

2213 Inc. are a furniture company that have named themselves after a prime number for some reason!
