The Prague Astronomical Clock has a repeating mechanism of 1, 2, 3, 4, 3 and 2 chimes that allows it to chime all the numbers from 1 to 24 in sequence.

... and is featured on the Google home page today.

I noticed that and thought of that (before your post)

We're clearly into a range of numbered roads that's near where I live.

The Southsea parkrun route goes past the southern end of the B2155.

Interestingly enough, that was the last B-road number to be allocated in zone 2 in the original 1922 numbering scheme. The sequence carries on a lot further now (see here) but there's no obvious geographical pattern to the remaining numbers.

The 47 Society is dedicated to random sightings of the number 47. They claim that "47 appears to be the quintessential random number of the universe. In other words, when a number appears randomly, more often than not, that number is 47. In other other words, if you asked people to pick a number at random, more often than not, that number would be 47."

The number 47 was very significant for me when I was young for a number of reasons. So very interesting that you should post this - I never knew there was a 47 Society!
