Hi everyone,
New to the forum as you can obviously tell by my post count. I've become fascinated by the tube challenge for a while, and then by coincidence became work colleagues with Jack Welsby a couple of years ago. After much procrastination me and another work colleague are going to have a go at a 268 for charity, probably in September.
I'm not sniffing around for clues on how to complete the challenge - my main concern was walking links and those have been well addressed elsewhere - but I'm a bit concerned about the Bank/Monument situation. How many times do people find themselves changing here over the course of the day? From what I gather only an interchange to/from Northern and Waterloo & City is possible until Aug 2009. I'm guessing that no-one uses the W&C over the course of the day as Waterloo and Bank will be passed through a few times each anyway, so will this seriously slow down the challenge?
Best regards,
Graham

I can't recall changing there very often on challenges in general, but you might find this map useful (from the excellent londonconnections.blogspot.com)
Holder of the slowest recorded 274 attempt: 4 months, 1 day, 9 hours, 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

Wow, that's fantastic (and quick too!). Thanks.
Must admit to surprise that you don't change there often, though I have to confess I haven't actually sat down and prepared our route yet. We have a start (Amersham) and an end (Heathrow 5) and that's about it at the moment.

Going by that website alone, there actually seem to be quite a few interchanges possible. Also, would I be right in saying that, if needs be, you could just exit the complex and re-enter?
I think I might check it out before Z1C08.
