Olympic 2012 Logo

Post by Soup Dragon »

Has anyone seen the hideous new logo for the 2012 Olympics.
I think they should have stuck to the original logo with the following amendment.

Very good SD and could be perfect for what you have in mind for 2012

I like that logo better. Compared to the one in the paper today, this is much better. The new logo is supposed to say '2012' but without reading about it in the paper, I still wouldn't have a clue as to what it's meant to show/say.

Looking at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6723027.stm. I think that Logo's 1, 3 and 4 by the BBC webste readers are exceptional.

Makes you wonder how you can pay £400,000 for a design when some people can knock up a better one in their lunch hour. There is a huge gravy train out there, and some people will make a lot of money out of these Olympics.

We should all vote for the one by Sam Boulton, I'm sure LU would love the free advertising :)

I agree with Peter Miller that the official logo looks very 1980's and certainly don't think it's worth the money.

This whole Olympic bid was based on rejuventation and youth, so why didn't they run a contest for the school children in London to try and design a logo. Not only would this have been cheaper, it would have generated more interest and more than likely they would have ended up with a better logo. They could have offered the top entries tickets to the opening ceremony or something like that.

What a wasted opportunity :(

Me too I like that logo. It looks modern and both attractive and appealing.
