You might want to consider:

Liverpool Street to Shoreditch,
Temple to Covent Garden,
Cockfosters to High Barnet,
Goldhawk Road to Shepherds Bush (Central line),
Kensington Olympia to High Street Kensington.

You could also try Wembley Park to North Wembley.
Starkey suggested this run to me on the Points of the Compass challenge.
It was a killer, especially when you consider it was shortly followed by Kenton to Northwick Park and then North Harrow to West Harrow :!:
I think thats around 4 km of running just to visit a handful of stations.

I would say that you should not post this information. Anyone serious about attempting the full network should really do their own research and not be spoon feed with useful information on distances of runs and time they take to achieve.

It's at the discretion of the individual challengers as to whether they divulge their "secrets".

In my capacity of the owner of this site I can say that I have provided a place where tube challengers can discuss these things.

In my capacity of tube challenger (ex), I would personally not reveal anything that would give any help to anyone trying to beat my time.

I don't think there is anything wrong with generally pointing someone in the right direction, and it's entirely up to an individual how much they chose to divulge. However, if you have spent weeks and months researching your route why make it easy for someone else by just giving away all your information.

For me the actual research is all part of the fun of the challenge, trying to find better ways of making connections within stations and researching which stations are best to change at, nothing actually beats going out there and doing it yourself.

I appreciate that not everyone on the forum lives nears London so the chances to do research are somewhat limited, however there is still plenty of research that you can do online that proves useful on the day.

Part of the fun is indeed coming into London on a couple of days off and going round sighting everything and getting it fixed in your head for the big day.

Geoff and I tested the world record route over two consecutive days from Amersham to Aldgate East (didn't bother going to Upminster) to get everything right.

It took me three weeks to get every door position by visiting the site of each change and noting it down.

Indeed! Without Internet a Swedish-based challenge would had been impossible...

We would probably not be the current GWR holders if it weren't for this forum. Not necessarily because of any hard info on here, but simply because it inspires!

...something we never bothered doing. We relied on the Way Out guide mainly (with all it's flaws), but we did visit around ten interchanges the day before our record and took notes.
