Journey Planner obscurities

Post by hwolge »

For a good geeky laugh:

Bring up the *new* Journey Planner advanced search:
http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/X ... nsActive=1

Enter "Clapham South" and "Balham" as "From" and "Travelling to".

Select any mo-fr at 05:00.

Uncheck "Buses" as mode of transport further down.

Press "search"...

Strange one there! (train via Victoria).

Oh, I don't mind walking - press "edit search options" - go to the bottom and check " I'd rather walk if it makes my journey quicker" and press "search" again...

Now, that's a good one at the top...

Walk to Balham, go back by tube, and walk there again!

You probably don't want to know, but it had something to do with computers...

And, jonny, it still works, if you follow the instructions exactly...

As someone who spent most of last year getting between Balham and Clapham South on a regular basis, this is brilliant!

If it was really clever, however, it would tell you to walk Clapham South -> Balham but to get the tube the other way as it is up a steep hill!
