But then again, this was an American game originally. What are the station names there?

Or, a bit harder, what are the station names in the Swedish version of Monopoly?

I'd guess the following:

Slottsgåde
Børnholmersgåde
Stockholmerskattendegåde
Kristiansundolmerhjelmingtoftersgåde

(using my limited knowledge of the Swedish language) Was I right?

If that's the sort of thing you get in the Swedish version of Monopoly, I shudder to think what the Swedish version of Scrabble is like.

Starkey - Close, but no cigar! ("ø" is Danish/Norwegian only. In Swedish it's "ö". Bornholm is a Danish island)

Actually they are all terribly boring:

Centralstationen (Central station)
Norra station (North station)
Östra station (East station)
Södra station (South station)

But they are all actual station names in Stockholm...

Swedish scrabble is both harder and easier than English. First of all we only have around 120 000 words in our dictionary, you have something like 330 000, I think. Furthermore our words can only appear in their base form (no plurals, no past tense etc.). On the other hand we have quite a few listed "combined words" so I'd say there are lots of possibilities to significantly lengthen an already played word. And obviously our letters have different count and points.

Bottom line is that it's quite different but well worth playing (at least if you are fluent in Swedish).

I'd hate to think how long it would take me to learn Swedish, although Mrs Editorsfoot can understand it and speak a little, although she can also speak Danish, Norwegian, a bit of German and English.

Puts me to shame
