Got anything to say that's not about the Tube? Say it here!

How much revenue has LU generated from Tube Challenges?

Post by Soup Dragon »

OK seeing as there is not much on the forum at the moment, I thought it would be a bit of fun to work out how much revenue LU has generated from various tube challenges, this would include any fares that you have spent when researching a challenge as well. I will keep a running total on this page. My total is just £31.50 :)

RUNNING TOTAL = £392.00

They made some money out of me on the last Z1 I did, over a fiver in the end I believe.
Unofficial Z1 challenge, 15th September 2006, 1400 start - Result? 3h29m34s. Disgusting! I want a re-run!

The great thing about being 15 is you pay child fares so I pay something like a £1 a time.
That makes my total=£9 or £10 :D

I also am 15 but full challenges cost about £7 for the actual challenge plus however many pounds you spend on testing sections out, etc. I would also say Virgin Trains have taken £100 at least out of my tube challenging as well.

Maybe I should take £20 off though because they spent that much sending me the WTTs.

Now then let me think; Z1 day in May, 3 more Z1 challenges since then, pre last train to shoreditch bottle, 129 snake challenge...so I make it 6 altogether at £6.30 a time comes to £37.80 if my maths is up to it :P

I've another £6.30 to add from todays Children in Need research day.
And what a great day it was with all our team members out and about examining various station changes.

You need to add another £7.30 for myself and Dr Who from Saturday...

Yes was quite relaxing up until the evening mouse runaround...

And I really enjoyed researching Chiwsick Park when I was supposed to be at Turnham Green

Ummm are you sure that you've not researched any other stations that you weren't supposed to?

The worrying thing is that was the first station you had to research on Saturday, what are you going to be like when the pressure is on doing the full network?

All Kevin has to do is to do whatever Team Leader Starkey says and all will be fine.

I'd make a rough estimate and say that I've bought about ten Travelcards for various challenges and suchlike, giving a total of £63.

And how does "Team Leader Starkey" propose to make GU run faster? We need to break 6 minutes on the North Harrow - West Harrow run.

It might be as much as six-and-a-half minutes, or as little as five-and-a-half minutes! The working timetables would have been useful here I suppose. Perhaps we can persuade Mr Driver to leave Watford early, and perhaps we can hold the doors for twenty seconds.

I reckon that GU can do it if he wants to. When you're running by yourself, you probably go about 5% slower than if you're running in a race or as part of some sort of challenge, due to psychology.
