I have found a website which allows you to drive L.U. trains on various tube lines. This can be dowloaded at no cost and full details can be accessed through the following link on my website.

I've had both versions on my PC for a while, and its worth downloading, if you look around you can most of the tube network, still haven't found a metropolitan line route though, good way to test out your driving skills if you have some time to kill!

Yes, I think i've been to that site in the past, has been work in progress for two year by the look of it. Anyway there are some really good routes for BVE, I always find it a nice way to send me off to sleep if I'm a bit of an insomniac.

I would disagree with the bit about starting with BVE2 though, BVE4.2 is no more difficult to use. It is best to play on BVE4.2 unless the route you want is only available for BVE2.

I tried the BVE4, but it seemed very unstable - probably because I use 64-bit Windows. However BVE2 works perfectly. Especially my 9-year old daughter loves it!

But I do have a couple of train driving questions:
* When there is a speed limit, for how long is it valid?
* What's the significance of round vs square speed signs?

The speed limit signs are the same as UK road signs - a black number in a red circle.

In tube tunnels, the speed limits are white numbers in square black boxes on the tunnel walls - they can't fit round signs in there!

If you see a white T in a black circle, this means you can go at the maximum line speed, which is usually 35 or 40mph. You can see one of these at the end of the platform at Earl's Court westbound when driving the Edgware Road to Putney Bridge route.

A speed limit stays in force until the see the next speed limit sign.

The speed limit signs are located to the LEFT of the track they apply to.

If you play any National Rail routes in BVE, you will see inverted yellow triangles witn numbers in - these are advance speed limit warnings. They indicate that a speed limit comes into effect some distance ahead, so start slowing down now.
