What was so special about Sunday 11th June?

Got anything to say that's not about the Tube? Say it here!

I notice that on the above date at 0312 am there were 37 users on line :?

This is surely a "glitch" :?:

Hmm I don't know so much; amazing coincidences do sometimes happen. After all, on Tube Relief day last year, what do you reckon Chesham station's neighbours must have thought when they saw thousands of passengers at 6am?!

Well, I wasn't there; I've no idea what time you lot got to Chesham! I presume that it was sometime around then, though.

And there were quite a lot of you that day...

I have no idea why so many people logged in that day.

I can't think of anything that was happening near that date which would result in so many logins.

Yeah strange it just caught my eye the other day, the other thing is the time 0312 hrs on a Sunday. I can confirm that I certainly wasn't part of the gang of 37 at that time :D

OK, here is my theory:

A search-bot found a link into the site. Then it spawned several threads/processes (or whatever) resulting in the 37 "simultaneous" visits.

Don't you log the IP-numbers, Neil?
What do you think?

Bots arrive on this site as guests. Guests don't count in that number.

If they did, then I'd have about 59693 every day as Google indexes the site!

D'oh!

What I meant was the multiple logins from one IP address counts as one guest. I don't think it would count it as several dozen.

You'll find it was probably many Googlebots spawning (different IP addresses), with MSNbot joining in.
