West Kensington - Gloucester Road non-stop?

Post by hwolge »

According to the JourneyPlanner the 0612 from Richmond non-stops through Earl's Court:

It calls at West Ken at 0632
and at Gloucester Rd at 0639

Is this a time table error or something real?

From the information i've put in to journey planner, it seems to stop at Earl's Court to me!

This is how it looks at my end. Look at the top - no 0632 train, but below - there it is. I tried "following" it from Richmond at the JPL is consistent.

Oh right, I was putting in Richmond to Gloucester Road.
However, if you put in West Kensington to Gloucester Road via Earl's Court, the 6.32 is there! Strange!

Definitely a bug in JPL only then! JPL also finds the train 0637 from EC arriving 0639 GR.

What happens is the 0632 from West Ken calls at Earl's Court at 0637, while the 0634 from West Ken is also shown as calling at Earl's Court at 0637. So the Journey Planner thinks there is no point showing the earlier train as it will not get you to Earl's Court any quicker.

In reality I expect what happens is the 0632 would arrive about 0635 and then wait a couple of minutes at Earl's Court until 0637.

Yes, that makes sense. My experience with JPL is that it's generally good and bug free.

However, does anyone know how/when the JPL is updated?

Currently (as of a few days ago) the Shoreditch replacement bus was not in there. The T4 replacement bus is gone in the autumn (from Oct 1:st, I think) but there is no Piccadilly service to T4 even in late November. Also I've found no evidence of the autumn leaf-fall Amersham times in there either.

There's some disclaimer buried somewhere that advises you to re-check your travel details closer to the date if you are planning more than 4 weeks in advance, or something like that.
