The Last Train From Shoreditch - Debrief

Post by tubeguru »

Well, wasn't that fun?

I've got some good pictures taken by various people using my camera as well as an audio recording of the entire thing from when we left Shoreditch on the train before last to when we arrived at the pub.

I may cut all the best bits together to form some kind of Shoreditch montage ...

Oh yes fun indeed and a fine choice of pub as well.....

Just one thing that is puzzling though, Shoreditch seems to be a busy enough station, in fact there were more passengers about than rush hour central London, so why close it

Yes, fine time last night. Good to meet you all, time to start planning the next 274 for the summer.

No idea. I wouldn't close a station with that many people using it on a Friday evening.

It was good to see the "tube challenge" crowd again. I've added a few Shoreditch pics to my Flickr site, linked to in my signature.

Surely the main reason it was so busy was because it was closing? I doubt it would be that busy otherwise. Perhaps they should re-open it and re-close it every day!

I only caught sight of "you lot" only briefly at Whitechapel, I was on the last public train from Shoreditch as well, standing right up against the rear drivers cab as the train was leaving Shoreditch.

Pity I couldn't get any good pictures of the station building or the "Shoreditch" blind on the train, due to many people having the same idea as me, at least I manged to get an clear shot of the temporary roundel!

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!
