Longest 'on foot' section

I'm going to start training for my challenge over the summer, and was wondering how long everyone's "longest run" is between stations (North Harrow - West Harrow etc.,)
I'm not particularly bothered which stations it's between, but if you could tell me the longest stretch, I'd be most grateful!

A well known long ish run is Ickenham to West Ruislip, or t'other way round!

It's just over 1km, a gentle climb if from Ickenham. But a very simple run to navigate.
I guess the average for most people doing this is 6-9 minutes. According to TFL it takes up to 16 to walk it if your in no rush.

Bit of advice... One thing people do is to try and have a helper at the station your running to. You call/radio them, ask how long till next train and decide if its worth running or not. It can save you the energy!

A classic little run is Aldgate/Aldgate East, a little gem!
If you go for it you can make a 2 minute connection. DONT use the footway under the traffic island. Literally follow the roadside, jump the little black fence, then cross the island. Safely of course!

That "semi secret" is only any good for you under 20 year olds, I would need a week to recover jumping the fence

LOL! I swear there's some sort of sensor on my seat that's linked up to my PC - MSN Messenger only ever seems to make a tiny clicking sound when I get a message, whereas it used to do the regular "bulbulbulblub" noise, but earlier on I was downstairs in the kitchen, and it made the regular noise, as if it could tell I wasn't sitting by the PC, and knew to make a louder noise.....

Ummm, maybe it's not too technical. Could just be that the seat is just relieved when your not sitting on it

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Kevin: No jumping is required, you can just run along the side of the railing, cross onto the central island, then run along the outside of the ther railing on the other side. It's easier if you're going from Aldgate East to Aldgate, otherwise traffic is coming towards you fast from around a corner. It is slightly more dangerous than using the subway, but a true challenger will ignore that risk!

Seeing as the starting station this year was Sloane Square, like several others we decided to take district line to Aldgate East and then run to Aldgate (working from the TFL map). One of the highlights was when Hakan and his team and Neil all went dashing off at 100 miles an hour through the barriers and I then realised what the day was going to be like...

We just followed the crowd and if memory serves the mighty "guru" himself went through the underpass.....

OK Antony, we will forget the age restriction as I will even be trying this myself next time
