Is the main object used in the major sport practiced at this venue, not suppposed to leave the ground (or surface of water) while in play? (By major sport I mean the sport most practiced at the venue)

I'm going to say no, the main object in the most practised sport at this venue does not necessarily have to be on the ground or surface throughout the entire duration of an event. Although all points of that answer are probably debatable.
