the 'Other Places' Challenge

Post by RichieG »

(for want of a better name - if anybody else can think of something then go ahead!)

This was an idea I thought of yesterday. There are a number of stations on the Network that are named places that aren't in London (or areas of London, or places that aren't served by the Network) so how about a challenge using them? These are the ones I can think of:
  • Boston Manor
  • Canada Water
  • Cyprus (DLR)
  • Devons Road (DLR)
  • East India (DLR)
  • Gloucester Road
  • Great Portland Street
  • Holland Park
  • Kentish Town (or am I pushing it there?)
  • Lancaster Gate
  • Leicester Square
  • Liverpool Street
  • Newbury Park
  • Oxford Circus
  • Preston Road
  • Surrey Quays (LO)
  • Swiss Cottage (almost)
  • Warwick Avenue
  • Waterloo
  • West India Quays (DLR)
I wouldn't be surprised if I have missed any off... but any thoughts folks?
(those marked in dark red are the ones I in fact did miss off...)

Yes, indeed it could :)

If you're allowing yourself Kentish Town, surely Caledonian Road should be in there too?

Hmm... wasn't sure about Waterloo as I wasn't certain that it was an actual place...

Nice idea for a challenge Richie, although should probably be restricted to Tube stations only :?:

Yeah, I started putting the DLR in without thinking that there'd be that many...

There really is a Stamford Brook though... The brook was not named after the place.

Edgware itself is on the tube so that one doesn't count.

The placenames in the name must NOT be on the tube as a separate place.
