Agreed, but you never know: http://www.tubechallenge.com/forum/view ... =30#p77890Iain wrote:True, but that's not very likely
Or, you start with over 120, then at zero seconds before the start you randomly get rid of all but 15.Tube Geek wrote:How about you start off with 16/17, then a few minutes before the start you randomly get rid of 1/2
Not really sure what having *extra* planning time adds.

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
I still don't get the point of your random reduction twist. You know in the standard R15 we're only allowed to know the stations after the clock starts?

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
To expand on this, you chose 3 sets of 6 station but must visit 5 off the same list thrice not a mix of all six!

Alright - get 20, visit 5 then go to another meet up point, before 5 are taken away. If you've already been to some, then tough. Note the stopwatches stop at the 2nd point

About the most sensible post in this whole convo! Anyway, any new twist idea would need to get past me first...Steeevooo wrote:How about If it ain't broke then don't fix it?

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
The Central line barrier
15 stations are chosen randomly as normal.
If the starting station is north of the Central line, all the stations north of the Central line must be visited first, then any that are on the Central line, then the stations south of the Central line.
If the starting station is south of the Central line, the same in reverse.
If the starting station is on the Central line, you can choose whether to do north or south first, then any others that are on the Central line, then the other side.
A possible extra wrinkle: whilst doing either "side", the Central line must be avoided, even passing through and interchanges. e.g. if you're doing the north side, you couldn't do Regent's Park to Warren Street by changing from the Bakerloo to the Victoria at Oxford Circus.

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
I like that Central line idea.
The Hokey Cokey Twist
(In, out, in, out...)
The draw consists of eight Zone 1 and seven Zone 2 LU stations in separate lists.
Starting from the first Zone 1 station on the list you must next visit one of the Zone 2 stations, then another of the Zone 1 stations and so on through the 15 stations always alternating between Zone 1 and Zone 2, ending at your last Zone 1 station.
You are allowed to visit other stations on the lists and not count them if they are out of the alternating order. You must come back later for a proper visit.
For simplicity, stations on the Z1-2 border can only appear in the Zone 1 list.

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
I do like the Hokey Cokey - it's got a ring of the Wombles twist as well.
I might float the Wombles twist to Tangy as an idea. Don't know what it would do to timings though.

One finger one thumb
You visit one, then get another station. After the 2nd, you get a third, however you also have to visit 1 & 2 again, etc. Until 15. Would be Z1 only

Re: R15 Twist Ideas
How about you start with the possibility of all the open stations within Zones 1 or 2 to be visited, and then at a pre-determined time these are suddenly whittled down to just 14 (which exclude the starting station), which have to be visited in any order.

Anyone up for a Random 119? With a favourable draw it may only take 12 to 15 hours.
