Brazil out!

It's wide open folks.

Here's the semi-final line up:

Germand (Geoff) v Italy (fatbuoy)
Portugal (standclearofthedoors) v France (tubeguru)

Three of those teams will win money for someone. May the best forum user win!

Well it was a typo, but since you've gone to the trouble of pointing it out, I won't bother correcting it and deleting your post :-)

Yes.

55% to the winner, 30% to second and 15% to third.

That means £52.80 for first place, £28.80 for second, and £14.40 for third.

You'll never work again ...

And today we will see who goes through to the first/second place shootout (or "the final" if you will).

Geoff versus fatbuoy!

Well, even if Germany lose today, they still have a shot at third place in the play off. No one's out of it until Saturday.

Good goals from Italy!

Fatbuoy goes through to the final and can't come lower than second now.

Geoff will have to console himself with third place, if Germany can win it ...

Come on France!

I'm glad we're not having an Italy-Brazil final!

I decided to pick Italy as my team to follow from the Semis onwards because of all the crap that's going on domestically for Italian football. And the fact I learnt Italian at School, have been there a couple of times and had an Italian Exchange when I was younger!

So I'll be backing them in the Final - for the sake of an interesting contest, I hope they meet France.

Well, if I'd drawn Brazil or Argentina, you'd all have been shouting "fix" back then.

No one gave France a chance at this world cup, but here they are in the last four, so good news for me!

Including yourself!

I don't suspect this was a fix - I'm sure most people would have plumped for England, Czech Republic or Spain over France. If you had really wanted to fix it you would have given yourself Brazil and Argentina - but look where they are now!
