The Ivory Coast are not going home today,
they will beat Holland by at least 2 goals.

I'll bet the entire pot that they don't.

Sorry to be saying goodbye to some of you after only 2 games :(

I fear I wont be far behind after with MeixcOh only drawing with Angola :(

Talking of which that was rather greedy of Pete already having Italy and Brazil you could have done the decent thing and Angola lost :)

OK, I've updated the state of play thread.

Looks like I'm going to lose a third team today if Ukraine don't pull their fingers out. And my best shot at a prize (France) were rubbish yesterday.

Which jammy bastard drew Argentina?

I don't believe in that theory.

After all, a team can't peak too soon or too late in a full season can they? Players don't just turn it on for seven games and then turn it off again. So why should they start doing it in a major tournament such as this?

Argentina will almost certainly be in the top three finishers.

England won't make the quarters at their current rate - we're not going to be peaking any time soon unless we sort ourselves out.

I fear they could be out today as Aussie only need a draw and have looked quite useful (unlucky to lose 2-0 to Brazil).....Unfortunately either tc or root will be out of the sweepstake today..... :(

Could be worse Sam, at least they now can't meet again until the final so you could still collect money both through your bet and the sweepstake
