I guess you will have to. It's not as much closed as it is being replaced by another station more centrally located in Shoreditch.I was expecting to see the whole ELL as under contruction on the map by now.

That's obviously a transitional measure by LU so that people who regularly use the service know it's closed and use the bus instead.

Over time it WILL disappear. Well, it SHOULD ...

It could be argued, though, that the East London Line is Orange, and that orange with a white box inside doesn't correspond to any like on the tube map.

Or something.

I refuse to accept that it is not closing.

But the challenge is not to visit every station on the map - it's to visit every station on the network - which this won't be!

The record is subject to Guinness's interpretation of which stations are on and off the system.

I think the H4 thing has confused a lot of people with regard to closed stations.

BUT the T4 thing was totally correct under the interpretation of the original rules.

GWR clarified the situation and it changed nothing.

If Shoreditch is to be included - then this would be an actual change to the rules.

I'm happy to see that, finally, someone else shares my pessimistic (optimistic? realistic?) view on GWR attitude! :)

Now it's just a matter of wait and see...

I used to have an optimistic view but you're all swaying it again.

The microwave door is open and my hat awaits entry.

Edit: I just have to mention how ridiculous I think this all is. They ought to just take the bloody station off the map. People can fend for themselves, can't they? (Or are these the same people who need reminding to open a bottle of fizzy drink "with care", "at arms' length" and "pointing away from face"?!).

As an aside, the local boat club has demolished its clubhouse to build a new one - but construction has been postponed because there's a dispute with British Waterways as to where the rainwater that falls on the roof will go!!!

I tend to disagree. After all, having Shoreditch on the map clearly means that it should be considered a (temporarily) closed Underground Station (on the ELL line) for now. The fact that it won't in fact reopen is a different story.

I think a T4 ruling again would in fact be appropriate - and, of course, more challenging!

I think complete removal of Shoreditch will be appropriate BECAUSE IT WON'T OPEN EVER AGAIN and it ISN'T a STATION on the UNDERGROUND any more.

As I said before, the challenge is "all LONDON UNDERGROUND stations", so even if there is a new station at Shoreditch, it won't be on the Tube network (and thus won't be included) and also won't be where the current one is anyway!

Remove it for good. T4 is reopening; this isn't.

Did the challengers have to visit Ongar on a rail replacement bus after it closed?
What about Aldwych?

Just put Whitechapel-Shoreditch into Journey Planner for 12th June, wanted to see how long it would take. Only one option is given - Shanks's pony!

On the other hand: If you look up T4 connections late autumn you'll find NEITHER RAIL NOR REPLACEMENT BUS. The Journeyplanner is simply not properly updated...
