The Journey

After being pleasantly mobbed by the local children (as happened to me at Accra airport), you board the trotro. It takes you to the bus station, and you look around for a bus to take you to the Akosombo Dam.

You find one, and off you go. As you approach it...

...you decide to take a boat ride on the river from the big bridge 2 miles downstream of the dam. (That's what we did in 1999, anyway...)

You settle down on the boat and enjoy the view. As you round a bend, you say hi to Albert's mum, who asks how he is doing. You tell her that he's doing very well and has a high paying job. The boat continues, and you continue to enjoy the view until you reach...

...Kpong, where you abandon ship, and catch a bus back to Accra.

And get on a train to Kumasi.

Where you walk to the bus station. (When I went to Kumasi bus station, I didn't get off the bus - we were just passing through).

And take a bus to Takoradi.

[RobbieM]

...where you use a street-trader to change your currency (as we managed to avoid doing in Takoradi), and get another bus to Busua Beach Resort.

After spending a few weeks there, you take the kindly offered shuttle to Takoradi Airport.

And after running around the airport terminal three times...

Do another ninety-seven laps.

Then bizarrely, get the shuttle bus back to Busua...
