HT's copied the pledge right, according to the leaflet through my door. It is somewhat disingenuous though as according to the leaflet he's already cut £2bn of waste so he's actually committing to cut another £1.5bn

That doesn't happen under SV.

That's besides the point - you said SV is a system to match FPTP, but it doesn't have two separate voting rounds, which you earlier said was important. So how does it match FPTP? SV does not eliminate tactical voting and does not meet the monotonicity criterion, so it is a flawed system.

Yes they do, but like I said, that's besides the point. We weren't talking about France, we were talking about the London Mayoral election, where everybody does not vote again. I have no idea why you brought France up at all. Am I missing something?

We both are.

A "true" Supplementary Vote system requires everyone to vote again (France). At which point did I specifically say "SV isn't flawed in London"?

You said SV is "the only system which can match FPTP", and at various times in this thread you have defended FPTP as a good, fair system. Your main criticism of AV was then that people do not get to vote again, yet it seems that you don't consider that to be a problem for SV, because you say it matches FPTP.

Has anyone ever seen the 2006 Labour Party Election Broadcasts (Dave the Chameleon)? It's incredibly funny. Untrue, but funny.

You said it was the reason why you voted No in the AV referendum.

Yes, I'm aware of that... :? I'm not really sure why I bother, but I do, and I don't really mind. It's quite fun, I suppose :)

You're saying that my criticism of AV was that people don't vote again, backed up with a quote that says I didn't like AV because not everyone votes again...
