I'm always stunned by Westminster, Canary Wharf and North Greenwich, personally. Epping and back or bus to Walthamstow?
Just joined this forum but have long been aware that Epping takes AGES to get to (thank goodness we don't have to go to Ongar any more!) so my first thought was to start there. Problem seems to be that you'd have to start a bit later, as the first train from Woodford around the loop isn't until 06:25, so it seems that I will need to go to Epping and back again. Or is it advisable to try and get a bus from somewhere to Walthamstow - in fact there is a bus from Debden (number 20) - though it takes nearly an hour! Other possibilities are W12 from South Woodford/Snaresbrook or 275 from Woodford. Any thoughts?

Starting at Epping is not recommended as it means you have to do Amersham/Chesham etc either in the middle of the day or at the end of the day.
Bus between the Victoria and Central lines - I've never ever done it myself
