Being a Walthamstow resident, I already know the best ways of linking to the Central line, but I am keeping quiet. The only way you will know if you actaully have a trial run of all the available options and decide from teher which one you would do, given your abilities.

Spoon feeding is one way to put it, as you say, it seems the days of people experimenting and finding things out for themselves has long passed :/

As the most recent newcomer to complete a full network, I would like to respectfully point out that I did spend the best part of two months thoroughly researching things on the ground before my first attempt a couple of weeks ago. That said, being a Woodford resident (and before that Snaresbrook) who has on many occasions made the journey from Walthamstow to the Central Line, it is still possibly one of the legs of my route that I'm least certain that I've chosen the optimal strategy.

There are always exceptions, but it seems in recent times that many people have come on asking for hints and tips.

It's good to see a newcomer, go out and research and plot and plan in the way you did, you set a good example to others

No disrespect intended to you Nigel, as you have gone out there and done things the "proper" way, but you only have to look at how many people sign up to here and ask for information to see where the sentiment comes from! I have the full respect for anybody that goes out there and devises a route and researches the possibilities like I have done in the past

Also, while there are a lot of free 'tips' which can be picked up by browsing previous posts, I believe that in some cases a bit of original thought, and trying out ideas which don't yet appear to be conventional wisdom, can yield results.
