First attempt at a R15 challenge, despite reading the rules about 100 times, I still forgot that you didn't have to do the stations in the order listed on the piece of paper.

Well I've done an Aldgate/Aldgate East mess up...
First tube challenge, 3pm stopped with my very slow and rather large mate wanting a mcdonalds at Liverpool Street, when coming back on, I in my tired stupidity take a Hammersmith and City line train to Aldgate East thinking it was going to take me to Aldgate - where I needed to go!

Re: Worst Mistakes?
I was coming down from the Sudbury area and intending to change at Ealing Common for Ealing Broadway.
I got to Ealing Common twenty minutes early.
I thought, "I'll just go on a few stations and double back, to fill the time."
I doubled back at Turnham Green.
I mistakenly ended up on a Richmond train.
I got off at Gunnersbury but didn't want to just reverse so I sought a bus out.
The bus only took me one stop west.
I ended up walking up the North Circular and across the common.
I was half an hour late.

Re: Worst Mistakes?
One that sticks in my head is not challenge related but still relevant was the time I exited Belsize Park and wanted to head to Gospel Oak (to catch the GOBLIN home).
I know the bus route between Belsize Park and Gospel Oak is the C11 and is the only single decker route that passes Belsize Park, thus upon exiting the station I immediately noted a single deck bus approach, so hailed it and jumped on (without reading the blind on the front of the bus beforehand). The bus swung round to Swiss Cottage and it finally dawned on me that I was going the wrong way (this was in the days before Ibus).
I alighted at Finchley Road LU but only had two minutes to make the transfer to Finchley Road NLL to make a NLL train that would still make my intended GOBLIN train....Gave it a tube challenge style sprint up the Finchley Road in hope of catching said train, fortanately it was a minute or two late and made the intended GOBLIN train.
**Side note: What made this happen was that I thought Belsize Park building was on the northbound side of Haverstock Hill (thus thinking you stay on the same side of the road for a northbound bus which is what I wanted). Of course Belsize Park ticket hall is on the southbound side of the road, so need to cross the road to get a northbound bus...**

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Tube Mistakes
Ok so who here have made a few classic tube mistakes?
I'll start with what I did this weekend. I was travelling from Paddington and going to Kings Cross, so had to change at Oxford Circus to get a northbound Victoria train. Knowing it was cross platform, I ran to the opposite platform, to find out that I was on the southbound Victoria Platform instead of the northbound.
And only 24 hours later when I was coming home, I did exactly the same but in the opposite direction!
So who's got an embarrassing story? I know there's a few stories on here somewhere...
