I do not believe that Andi/Steve/Tangy time is impossible to beat and have two routes which I am eager to take out as I reckon that they both can beat it

The next change will probably be the extension of the Met to Watford Junction via the Croxley Green branch. However it has been planned for ages so I wouldn't hold your breath just yet.

Re: When the record will next be 'reset' ?
As you say, all the action seems to be on Overground services. Any new tube developments are likely to be a station or two closing or opening. No new lines for a while yet. Plans appear to be concentrated on modernisation and rebuilds rather than any new services, and if any are built they won't be for the Tube.***** wrote:the ELL comes back on next month (right?) but as Overground, not tube .. so that doesn't count. so what do we think will be the next major map/tube station count change that will affect the number of stations and reset the record to be up for grabs again?

I can't see much development happening on the tube side of things as all TfL funding is being pumped into London Overground in preperation for the olympics

Northern line extension to Battersea? (or wherever it was that was proposed somewhere in the no-tube badlands south of the river)

The various signalling upgrades underway should also make it easier by reducing journey times and increasing frequencies. Even just a couple of minutes per line makes a big difference by the end of the day.

When the ELL comes back into play, will you be able to try and beat the Brown's 18:20:26 time which was for 274 stations excluding Shoreditch?

Surely it won't count as it won't be a tube line

No it won't, so the above is rubbish.

Re: When the record will next be 'reset' ?
just to play devil's advocate in this one...
maybe joy54 was referring to someone perhaps including the ex-ELL stations (as part of the LO) as well as the 270 LU stations as an attempt to set a time quicker than the last one set under that configuration by the Browns? just to prove a point? i'm sure andi could probably spare the time to do something like this (ie. relatively pointless)

Re: When the record will next be 'reset' ?
Unless it ran to same timetable as before (and why would it?) then doing such a challenge wouldn't prove anything...dudey wrote:just to play devil's advocate in this one...

On that note, I had planned to do a "closed stations" challenge this summer.Starkey7 wrote:Because some stations have now closed.
Holder of the slowest recorded 274 attempt: 4 months, 1 day, 9 hours, 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

Mod note:
Discussion of when GWR will reset the record because of a configuration change - not because someone has set a new record.
Thanks.
