Perhaps your right, but maybe Starkey has given away our biggest secret, the infamous GPS to Pimlico run !!!

But in all seriousness, there was a mention of needing luck, that is one factor in a full network challenge. But you need more than luck alone.
Good research, physical fitness, and the ability to adapt your route also factor.
One day I shall return!

So that's a 2.7 km run. How long would that take you? 10 mins? 9?

Assuming we have arrived by tube and intend to travel east from Sloane Square, we'd have the following approximate time with running:

Exiting Vauxhall station: ~30s
Running: ~9m
Entering Sloane Square: ~30s
Waiting for the next train: ~1m
= 11 minutes

The alternative:
Wait for Victoria line train: ~1m (avg)
Travel to Victoria: ~4m (took only 3m16s during our GWR)
Run to SSL platform: ~1m (probably much less
Wait for an SSL train: ~1m
Travel to Sloane Square: ~1m45s
Change platforms: ~15s
Waiting for the next train: ~1m

= 10 minutes

Can't really see the running as an option! (Unless you run 2.7 km in 8 minutes or less - perhaps you do?)

The buses do not seem to help a lot either...

One suspects that my good friend Starkey has his tongue very firmly in his cheek by suggesting such strange runs? :)

My tongue was rammed firmly into my cheek, yes. I'm not satisfied with the BR link from Vauxhall to Waterloo though; I'm really desperate to find a way around that.

Depending on the drawn starting station it is almost impossible to resist the link and still plan a good route....... :?

At Z1C 2005 I and Patrick did not use the Waterloo-Vauxhall Link, neither did the second place team. No 3 team (Geoff & Neill) used it though.

Might I ask what you did instead please?

I understand if you don't want to reveal it to the competition though ;)

It's no secret, but you should be able to guess... Or look it up on a famous British-American tube related site!

Westminster to Vauxhall isn't too far on foot - around one and a third miles.

Alternatively you could venture into Zone 2...

The Vauxhall connection is fast, but it's still time spent not visiting tube stations. I was trying to work out the 'perfect' Zone 1 route a while back, and although I didn't get very far I think I planned for a Vauxhall finish.
