New Stations!!!

Post by editorsfoot »

Well one new station and one renamed one. Will challengers be able to make use of it for changing?

Hmmm. That a renamed station is a "massive improvement of transport links for West London" is nothing short of verbal diarrhoea

I wouldn't have thought so, unless you fancy doing White City (Central) - Wood Lane (H&C).

Having said that, the new station on the West London Line might come in useful in conjunction with one of them.

Cheers,

Barry

gosh, tfl must have been bribed by the BBC, as i can't think of any other reason why people would use the new station at wood lane when they couldn't just walk an extra 5 minutes from shepherd's bush, white city or latimer road. just looks completely pointless when you see it on the map.

regarding the WLL, wikipedia puts it bluntly:

"New station scheduled to open in 2006 although, as of September 2006, construction has yet to commence"

maybe it's best for silverlink just to wait until TFL get it off them...

On another forum someone posted that the maps now show the WLL stations opening in 2007, but southern trains won't stop there anyway.

The developers web site suggests that the station isn't open yet. It is probably in the A to Z for publicity purposes perhaps or A to Z assumed the station would open on time.

it's on my A-Z aswell, it's rubbish. the number of times i've used the clapham junction to west brompton route and tried to spot it, it's not even there yet!

southern trains stop at west brompton and kensington olympia, and a few virgin trains also stop at olympia, to provide a link with the exhibition centres. they don't stop at willesden junction either, so i doubt they'd use shepherd's bush.

Imperial Wharf & Shepherds Bush will initially be served by TfL Rail presumably. It is normally decided on ticketing and entry/exit patterns on what other service sstop there.

well, if they hurry up and finish them by their original time target, they'll go to silverlink for a few months first.
