Buskers on The Tube?

Post by Dr Who »

Do we like the idea of buskers on the tube?
Well I do I think it helps if you have some music to run to.

So who's going to be the first tube challenger to specially plant a busker at Waterloo to play the Benny Hill theme?

Yes I think they are ok and some are surprising talented..... I love the look on their faces and they always have a passing comment to make when we go running past on a tube challenge interchange :D

Some of them I like. Some of them I don't like.

I must say, though, that there was an exceptionally talented pianist playing at Euston (Underground) station a few weeks ago - really brilliant. We need more pianists on the tube, I feel.

Yes. Although a grand piano would be very amusing, since everybody would wonder how it was got there.

Certain buskers can be good to hum to, though I do remember a few appalling ones. As long as it sounds like music and they're not in the way of a running challenger (:)) it's all good.

Bob Marley always spiced up Victoria, good to see he made it onto the Tube. Has anyone seen him about recently?

I was just about to ask, "Who's Victoria?" I'm getting London-withdrawal symptoms, and forgetting what's where!

Er, well. I had an interesting moment at Charing Cross. Running full pelt along that very long corridor, I was rapidly approaching a mouth-organ player sitting on the floor, and had to leap over him. It was good fun, and made the run a little more interesting.

It'd be so classy if I wore a tuxedo and sunglasses during my attempt. But maybe that's only something for the Winter. 8)

And there was also a Circle line party that happened periodically. Apparently, a very large number of people, looking normal at first, would board the same Circle train. They'd be carrying music players and speakers disguised as bits of luggage, and some people even brought mini bars and disco lights along. They'd be normal at stops, but as soon as the train left a station the party would carry on. It seems that once started, it went on all evening!
