Has to be unknown I'd say- the time quoted is 43 rather than 38 seconds- if he was on this forum he'd know that was the (Albeit unconfirmed) time to beat surely.

He would have failed in his world record attempt anyway, having unfortunately picked 10th August I believe that Heathrow T4 was closed.... :?

Not a good day to be using the Piccadilly line, I imagine.

Still, you're not going to break the record with 75 changes!

How many changes does our route have Steve?

Note it's OUR route not your route as we are still (technically) on the same team?

Not that we are taking any credit from you.... but remind us who actually devised the route?

The groundwork was done by Steve.

I edited it and provided the logistical backup.

Chris,

Don't try and take credit for things you didn't do! What editing did you exactly do? And back up? What back up?

I edited a couple (albeit minor) elements of the route and let's not forget whose bank account supplies the team with the essential elements of stopwatch and walkie-talkies!

Therefore, considering it has been consistently proved over the past year that we are able to tube challenge only at the permission of my bank account (I refer you to (as yet unpaid!) debts relating to-
1. Nita Hurley's B&B for March attempt
2. Travelcard for said March attempt
3. Pub drinks for team on said March attempt!

Don't tell me I have nothing to take credit for, i've done three challenges myself and supported you for your last one, and went out of my way to provide you with the equipment... and i'm going to be hosting your write-up - and don't forget i'm a student too!

Look at it this way - if you are a support team member:
- You do not get the credit if the world record is broken
- You get the acknowledgement from the main team that you help was invaluble
-You accept this at the start (or don't bother).

Without looking, can anyone (not Geoff or Neil) name who Geoff and Neil were supported by in their world record breaking attempt?

So dr_chris - SHUT UP!

I don't want credit for breaking the record.
I merely ask for a little acknowledgement that I did have a role in devising the rote, albeit minor!
Plus I have provided massive financial backing which is often forgotten...

What's all this about teams anyway? Using your arguments, Chris, I am a part of the team comprising yourself, Sam and Steve, because of the help I imparted during the, admittedly unconfirmed, World Record run. However, I've also helped Anthony, Adham, Ric, David and (in a very minor way) Hakan on their respective attempts, so am I in a "team" with them too? Surely every Tube Challenger is a freelance, a mercenary if you will. Sure, I tend to do more Challenges with people I know well, but if someone new asked me to help them I would give it the same consideration.

You helped out on the day, did you not? And for that, you were credited in the write-up, were you not? Why does it matter whether you're in an official team with Sam & Steve then? The fact remains that you weren't actually one of the people that broke the record.

Adrian Grist (just thought I'd mention him somewhere in this post)...
