Hello Everyone

Post by mfcooper »

I thought I'd post here first...

I'm someone new to this forum, and thought I'd say "Hello" to you all.

I found this through Geoff Marshall's site, which I've been visiting on and off for a few years now, and have finally taken the plunge and joined this forum. The main reason is to figure out how feasible it is for me to come and join in with the Zone 1 Challenge. Well, as a starting point, anyway

I'll see you around!

Yeh it would be really easy to just come along to Zone 1 without any practice, novices come every year and often are partnered with more expierenced challengers. Believe it or not it was the current world record holders first Zone 1 not very long ago.

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. You'll be more than welcome to join in this years Zone 1.
You will need to register with this years event organiser Håkan Wolgé (user name is hwolge)
and then shortly before the event HÃ¥kan will post details of where we are meeting.
As mentioned by joy54 newcomers are welcome and you can either go solo, get your own team together or we can try and team you up with a more experienced challenger.
One day I shall return!

Welcome to the forum.

Definitely worth showing up to Z1C, even on your own. You won't be left out.
My first was a couple of years ago, and I ended up going round with ric and david and we placed first, despite my complete lack of fitness and holding them up somewhat.

See you there!

Welcome!

It's a top quality day out (under?), is the Z1C. It is an ideal introduction to the full Challenge and, I reckon, is more intense and fast-paced what with all the changes. It is my favourite challenge.

Indeed! I once had to miss a Z1C because of an exam. I was not pleased. I hope you don't suffer the same fate.
