Yesterday while doing my attempt it was a little exhausting logging and taking pictures at once (witness statements were ok as people were really interested in what I was doing and once I gave them the pen they got on with filling it out) and when Kevin joined me he seemed surprised I took photos at nearly every station as he was under the impression it was one an hour. I remember watching Geoff and he did same as me as well as others I've helped out in a support team. I always thought u had to take one not at every station but certainly at each interchange and at regular intervals in between.

What does everyone else do, as taking pictures every hour would be alot easier for me to do?

From the rules:

We would strongly advise challengers to collect as much additional proof as possible to help corroborate the facts of the claim. This may include video footage, tickets for buses used to commute between lines, photographs at various recognisable points (perhaps in front of clocks) etc.

So as far as I am aware, there is no strict definition of one photo per station, or indeed one photo per hour, although I think the latter should be the minimum that you aim for.

Well, we submitted total of around 280 pictures (time stamped) at our GWR, but we actually missed out a few stations (actually a couple of "important ones" among them). Most of the pictures were of roundels, more or less out of focus...

My theory is that the reason we got confirmed quite quickly (just 4 weeks) was the extensive amount of time stamped pictures, a well kept and obviously not edited, log book, an excellent statement from our stop watch operator and reasonable quality of the hourly witness statements. I think the whole submitted report had an air of quality and comprehensibility to it!

We try to get as many of the team in photos as possible and try not to just shoot roundels. Last attempt I think took over 100 pictures of which I sent around 60 to Guinness (can't remember exact number). In addition we sent a video which is mainly of the runs between stations, funnily enough Guinness initially couldn't play the DVD and we had to send another copy which is partly what caused the delay in getting the record confirmed.

I was kidding of course. I think that it's important to get the team and various other important things (such as clocks, etc) into the shot, as well as getting roundels.
