In alternate leap years on 29 Feb there is one LO train that turns right at Canonbury and heads to Brookmans Park.

I'll have you know this is a very serious issue GKR has raised.

Re: London Overground Challenge
Although I'm highly unlikely to attempt this, I also think Battersea Park should be included. We are normally consistent in trying to follow GWR rules where they parallel, and in this case BP is a station served by the Overground.
the only vaguely legitmate cop out would be to rename the challenge the "London Overground Map Challenge".
Anyway, doesn't including BP make it marginally more interesting (if a lot harder to attempt)?

Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.
Doesn't any more.

I think it makes it a lot less interesting. By restricting yourself to one of the two possible Overground trains a day serving BP, you reduce enormously the possibilities for workable routes. My son and I won't be visiting it when we try over the upcoming school holidays.al wrote:

I would agree about it being less interesting. Ultimately though, records are about accuracy and nothing else. Not visiting a station means you haven't really done the challenge.Nigel wrote:I think it makes it a lot less interesting. And, Battersea Park certainly does not dictate which route must be taken. There are still significant choices.

6h:06m:34s with no Battersea Park. I'm claiming that record!
Good luck to anyone future attempts. More details to follow.

Well done. My son and I now have a target to aim at when we have a go during the school Christmas holidays. The Raven wrote:6h:06m:34s with no Battersea Park. I'm claiming that record!

Re: London Overground Challenge
The route:
West Croydon Penge West Crystal Palace New Cross Gate New Cross Dalston Junction Dalston Kingsland Stratford Richmond Willesden Junction Clapham Junction Canada Water West Ham Barking Upper Holloway Archway Euston Watford Junction
Arrived at Watford Junction on schedule with only one delay at Barking waiting for defective H&C train to move. Now visited all Underground, Overground, DLR and Tram stations.
Some highlights of the day:
- Strange kid on the jouney between New Cross and Dalston Junction who was having a rap battle, with himself!
- Strange lady at Harrow and Wealdstone who had a go at another passenger for staring at them!
- Really helpful LO staff letting me through the barriers as my ticket kept playing up.

Re: London Overground Challenge
Starting at a station not served by London Overground - interesting tactic?
