Future system configurations

Sounds great with the Germans making an effort! I will try to assemble a Swedish national team as well...

However, what is the general view on the full system over the next couple of years and in particular by October 2006?

Will T4 + T5 be back online? Will it be an extension of the old loop or some other topology?

Will Shoreditch be closed for good? Will it close by Xmas 2005?

Will the rest of ELL still be part of LU? When will it be transferred to other authorities?

Does anyone have up to date info on these topics?

T4 should be back online by October 2004.

No decision has yet been made about Terminal 5 although it is rumoured that trains will run to/from T5 even if it is not open to the public.

I'll post the layout later but it is not an extension of the loop - more a spur from T123 to T5.

Shoreditch should be closed by Oct 06 and I'm not saying whether the rest of the ELL is planned to be shut by then.

The rumoured track map for T5 (along with the existing Heathrow Loop) is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephenk1977/5524507/

So, how hard is it going to be to run between T4 and T5?

It's not so much about hard - it's more about how far! Likewise, would you want to?

"Hatton Cross -> T4, run to T5, -> T123, bus out" seems like an obvious approach to the situation.

Personally I wouldn't want to run between T4 and T5, it's a couple of km by foot!
