Yes good luck to the mighty Yeovil

We are trying to avoid the exams as best as possible but may be tricky...
It will definitely be on a Friday and be good to see you and Steve if you can make it..... :D

See how your Z1 skills compare to the full network eh

Remember that the chances of me taking part are virtually zero, so I am still available to do official timekeeping/collating of scores etc.

I'd say it's unlikely he will come over.

*waits for Geoff to announce his participation*

Cheers Going Underground (Much rather finish 2nd though, inconsiderate cousin is getting married play off final day :x)

Hopefully we'll be able to make it this year, at least you have factored in exam dates so that's cool! :D

OK, I know everyone's been driven mad by the suspense, but I think we can announce a few details now. Sorry for being later than promised, but being a few hours late seems appropriate for the Underground :)

Proudly presenting Tubefest 07 featuring this year's Official Zone 1 challenge.

The main event itself will indeed take place on Friday May 18th, as hinted earlier. However we are also planning a warm-up event on the evening of Thursday May 17th. This will be along the lines of the idea which seemed to be well-received when posted earlier; a starting station is drawn in advance, and then all the other stations which have to be visited are drawn at the start of the challenge, and you have to plan your route as you go. I don't want that to take all night, so will work out a sensible number of stations/which zones to use nearer the time.

THe main challenge will be on Friday, and will involve meeting at a central location before a station is drawn, getting round all the Z1 stations as fast as possible, and then retiring to a venue for results, food, drink and fun. In that order.

I believe that we have a venue booked - but will confirm shortly as David Scard is negotiating frantically as we speak.

We'll shortly ask people to confirm whether they are coming (hold on for a short while yet though!) but what I would be interested in is to consider if there are lots of people coming down for the Thursday night - it may be worth hiring somewhere out for people to stay if so, unless our London posters have lots of floor space!

Finally, please do keep telling people about this, it will be a brilliant event the more people turn up, and I don't think we'll have any capacity issues with the evening venue :)

See you in 2 months exactly!

Friday May 18th? I'll see what I can do!

Since I start work tomorrow (0600 awaking, earlier than the Central line... :P ), I cannot yet confirm for sure what I'll be doing in May. I might have to throw in a last-minute showing for the event, but I am hoping to be able to make it. I surely cannot do worse than 3h29m34s...Surely...
Unofficial Z1 challenge, 15th September 2006, 1400 start - Result? 3h29m34s. Disgusting! I want a re-run!
