Planning this event again for 2007 Children in Need Appeal
Anyone interested drop a reply onto this forum. Looking at doing something different than a 274!
Your thoughts please.

273?
Pick a random station and avoid it. If you have no choice but to stop there, you must do a forfeit.
Or something equally stupid ...

Very funny Mr Guru
I can guess the stations that would make the shortlist.........
Equally though something stupid could be a "challenge day"
There are numerous challenges that could be considered; Z1, Bottle, Mouse, Alphabet, 129 snake, Park etc.......
Just work out how many hours you want to spend on the day and a starting and finishing time and figure out what challenges you can fit in......

There wouldn't be a list ... it's random, remember?

No I mean't the station chosen NOT to be done by people doing a "273" on the day would be from a "shortlist"
Shoreditch, Mill Hill East etc......
You know one of those really annoying ones........
EDIT Actually you are missing out TWO stations on a 273

The shortlist would be every station, and you pick one at random.
You don't influence the choice by discounting stations before the draw. So, if you choose Chalfont and Latimer, you're buggered!

Ah I see when you said pick a station at Random I thought you meant pick a station of YOUR choice...
Crickey that's going to be a lot of pieces of paper in the hat

The key to understanding what I said is the knowledge of the difference between "random selection" and "choice" ...

I'm surprised tubeguru didn't suggest the visit every tube station without using the tube challenge, that would be the complete opposite!

But that would involve around eighteen hours' exertion - and you're missing out on a potential record just for the lack of one station - surely you'd have to be crackers to do it?

i think you should do a Z1, Bottle and Mouse all on same day and conbine all 3 times

Here's a related idea I had last week:
you have to visit a number of stations (from the parks challenge I'd suggest 20) However you only draw one in advance, which is the starting station. Once there, you draw the other 19 and immediately start the clock.
So the challenge involves on the spot route planning as much as anything else.

My suggestion would be to do the 275 (or 274... or whatever...) but you have to do it in fancy dress. I quite fancy dressing up as Batman, nice tight lycra plus I get to wear a utility belt.
If Starkey is in our team again this year I have the perfect costume for him, 'Pudsey Bear' that would slow him up so the rest of the team at least have a chance to catch him.
Just picture the scene on the Harrow run with Pudsey being chased by Batman

I like Ric's idea!
I have reservations about Soup Dragon's idea...

ROFL! Batman chasing Pudsey, I'd love to see that scene!
Like the idea of drawing one station, going to it and drawing from there!
