Steven Karahan (joy54) and I will be attempting the all stations challenge on Tuesday 24th October and we will need someone to start the stopwatch for us at Amersham. If anyone could help with this then it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonny Lyon.

At this rate the record's going to be held by 12 people in 12 months ...

As discussed between me and Steven via MSN, I can be at Amersham to start the watch for your attempt.

Well then... how did it go?
(And did the GPS-ing arrangements work out in the end? I ended up out of the loop...)

Didn't go too well I'm afraid, we abandoned it as early as 11am due to the poor service of the London Underground.
No Kidding, this was the describer at Waterloo Northbound Northern Line.
Code: Select all
1. High Barnet 10 mins
2. High Barnet 25 mins
3. High Barnet xx mins (can't remember exactly)
also, we wanted to go to Edgware.
And that wasn't the first of our problems.
We should have got you some data, although there wasn't as much as we'd hoped.
Sorry

I didn't think the boards didn't show trains further than 15 minutes away due to the reporting system used.

I know that, what I meant was that the trains were that far apart, and to show a describer board was the easiest way of illustrating it.

Jonny, did you not think about going up to Camden Town, and changing there for an Edgware train? I suppose the other problems that you mentioned probably made that the last straw...

Be careful of the destination boards at Waterloo - as all off-peak services now start from Kennington - it is not uncommon for the destination boards to be complete fiction.

We were only left with High Barnet trains. We took the first one which was a horrendous 10 minutes wait which was correct on the board which I as moley though was incorrect but it was correct. Then when changing at Camden and seeing Edgware we just had had enough. Just seemed we were heading slap bang into delay after delay

Yes, we did do that, sorry if I was confusing you.

Hard luck guys, and no worries about the GPS data... there'll always be more opportunities to get that in future!
