Just had a look at the TfL site, as of 1640, the following problems are reported...

Circle - Totally suspended (faulty comms equipment)
H&C - Totally suspended (faulty comms equipment)
Metropolitan - Totally suspended (faulty comms)
District - Suspended HSK-Edgware road (faulty comms)
District - Sever delays (gas leak at Plaistow)
Piccadily - Suspended South Harrow-Uxbridge (faulty comms)

Now I know the system is dodgy at the best of times... but since when has it been this bad!?

Don't blame me - I'm just reporting what was said on the TfL site

Doesn't Geoff’s website have a link to an animation of someone who tried to get from Hammersmith to Queensbury that took him something like 12 hours to do due to the LU falling into chaos

Yeah, that was pretty bad, but the guy never thought of taking a taxi! He walked from Golders Green, stopped to help people etc., so the impact of the Underground on his journey was minimal!

The failure was a result of a cockup at Baker Street control.

I saw this - popped into Chesham station to get a Metro (they seem to have quite a few left over these days, even up to the evening) and saw that only 4 lines had good service on them. The W&C is obviously completely suspended, those five lines all had part suspensions and the other two had severe or minor delays. Ridiculous.
