help!

Post by Owz »

Hi,

In a few weeks time me and my flatmate will be doing The London Challenge where we will be doing 301 tasks in 3 days. Those tasks include visiting all the tube stations and taking photos. The only problem is that we have hardly any experience with the tube, so we were wondering if you had any advice.

We won't be going for any record or anything, we're doing it for the NSPCC charity. We will have to get off at some stations to complete tasks, so what do you guys recommend?

Would it be best for us to just do every line one by one?
Are there any stations you recommend us avoid at certain times?
Could anyone tell me where I could get a list of all the stations so I can copy and past? :)

Thanks for your help,

Owz

Every line one by one in ONE day?

Impossible. Overal the course of three days - yes but only with good planning. Try to avoid anywhere on the Jubilee line extension between 7.30am and 9.30am if you can.

You can get a list of stations on the back of a tube map ... :-)

By the way, didn't I email you a few weeks ago about this?

Ye but I cant copy and paste that

I think you emailed Rich, my housemate, he's joined up on here somewhere. So you think we will be better off jumping from line to line? It doesn't have to be done in one day, it can be done over the three. But we will have to get off at some of the stations to do the rest of the tasks.

I guess its best to avoid anywhere near canary wharf during rush hour. Any dodgy stations we should avoid at night? Rather not get mugged if possible.

Cheers for your help

Maybe I should email you and talk you through the best way to do it that way in three days ...

Indeed. Don't go up there. It's not worth the fuss.

It looks like it's going to be on the 20th, 21st & 22nd of June. We were going to do it earlier but it's been delayed due to the AUT strikes and the resulting delay in uni exams. Rich will be down in London doing some 'field research' next week while I finish off my uni finals.

Worst part of it is we will have to get off at every station to take a photo...then try and get back on before the doors close again. I can see it getting very annoying waiting at stations for the next train.

Anyway, thanks for your help guys.

You could just take a picture through the doors. You're wasting serious time getting out and letting the train leave without you.
