Winter Tube Olympics

Post by tangy »

Before I finalise the dates for the upcoming Winter Tube Olympics, it has come to my attention that there will be engineering works on the Metropolitan line north of Harrow on the date that the FNC was provisionally going to be taking place (19th February) thus making an FNC impossible on this date.

As discussed in the pub after Random 15 yesterday, the FNC could be moved a week earlier (to Friday 13th) but then that would mean the FNC is attempted mid Olympics and separate from the Random 15 or we move the whole Olympics back a week so the FNC would be on Friday 26th Feb and then Random 15 on the 27th (thus moving the R15 a week later than previous advertised).

Discuss.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Neither option is great for me, but FNC on the 26th and R15 on the 27th would work better.

I think you have your dates wrong.

21st February is a Saturday. The current date for the FNC is 20th February, one week earlier is 13th or one week later is 27th, which would make the R15 28th.

As previously noted, I can't make the R15 on 21st anyway but could make 28th (though on current form and fitness I'd probably score the same whether I was there or not!).

Whilst theoretically I could do the FNC on 27th, current fitness makes it unlikely.

I can commit to the 13th or 16th February, if you decide on the 27th/28th then I'm in Rotterdam.

Changing the r15 to 28 Feb would mean I wouldn't be able to attend - Have got a holiday booked that worked around the previous dates, but would be away on 28th.

Personally, I would prefer to retain the original schedule with the olympics and R15 being on the week comencing Monday 16th February as that is the only week I have free from school, however, I do appreciate I am in the minority.

Just to check something else.

Tangy gave an option of "moving the entire Tube Olympics back a week".

Am I right in thinking there are other events in Winter Tube Olympics other than the FNC and R15, which don't need to be moved?
