Announcing the Christmas Parks Challenge 2025. After a few years off, this "much-loved" fixture of the Tube Challenge calander returns.
Date: Tuesday 30th December (chosen following discussion elsewhere on the forum)
Start Window: 0900-1100
Start Station: Upton Park
Post-Challenge Meet: TBC
I know that it's conventional to start at a different station each year, but when this challenge was last run the start station was Upton Park and only 1 person turned up (me!). I therefore feel it would be suitable to use this station again and (hopefully) have a competative challenge this year.
This will be the first challenge I've ever organised. I'll do my best to answer any queries and make sure things go smoothly, although I may have to turn to more experienced hands for some answers.
I think that's all you need to know for now. A full set of rules is available on request. Please indicate your intention to attend below in the usual way.

I shall be there (i presume).
Could I ask for a copy of the rules please? - I am wondering whether you have to physically visit the stations by LU services/tracks or whether a selfie is sufficient to officially visit the stations. Thank you.

U actually have to physically go outside the station and get a picture of the outside of a park station for all if u pass through ie somewhere say tuffnell park on way to woodside park you have to go back there to get the picture!

Thank you; can I clarify that only taking the picture is insufficient to visit a station; as to visit a station you must also visit it according to standard tubechallenge rules as well as taking a photo?
E.g., Could I exit St. James' Park, take a photo, run to Green Park, take a photo, run to HPC, take a photo, and then enter back into the system? Would this count as visiting GP even though I took a photo of it but didn't actually visit it by train?

All 24 Park stations have to be visited by LU train, as per the standard rules of Tube Challenging. (i.e. The train has to make a planned stop and the doors have to open. Pass through is only acceptable if the station is closed to ALL lines serving that station etc.)
In addition to this, a photo of the exterior of each station is also required.
However (and this is the slightly confusing part), the rules do not state that you have to pass through the barriers at each station, or take the photos in the order in which you visit them by train. In other words, as long as you have properly visited 24 station and taken 24 photos, you're good!
The challenge starts the moment before you take a photo outside the first station (in this case, Upton Park) and ends as soon as you take a photo outside your final station. Unless you arrive at your final station on foot, in which case you will need to photo the outside, depart the station by LU train, and finish the challenge when the doors open at the next station.
The 24 stations to visit are, in alphabetical order:
BELSIZE PARK
CANONS PARK
CHISWICK PARK
ELM PARK
FINSBURY PARK
GREEN PARK
HOLLAND PARK
HYDE PARK CORNER
KILBURN PARK
MOOR PARK
NEWBURY PARK
NORTHWICK PARK
PARK ROYAL
QUEEN'S PARK
RAVESCOURT PARK
REGENT'S PARK
ST. JAMES'S PARK
STONEBRIDGE PARK
TUFNELL PARK
UPTON PARK
WEMBLEY PARK
WESTBOURNE PARK
WIMBLEDON PARK
WOODSIDE PARK

In summary - you must visit all 24 "park" stations by LU - you must take an external photo of all 24 "park" stations..
How that is done is down to you

I'll do my best to be there! In the meantime, I've got to get back into shape, both physically and mentally!
