ZONE 1 CHALLENGE - 2006 REPORT

Post by tubeguru »

Mr Presswell (this year's organiser) has informed me that he'll be doing a full write-up in the next few days and it will appear in this topic.

In the meantime I'll sort through my pictures of the evening ready for posting up. If anyone has any photos they would like added to my gallery, and you want to send them to me, let me know and I'll put them up.

I'll do that soon! Perhaps tomorrow. I didn't get as many good pics as I would have wanted, but at least it saved space for my Museum Depot visit today...

Does anyone have a picture of me as the Underground Masker?

Yeah, but it's not a very good quality. I'll send it/post it later tonight.

Can everyone who was there that took pictures email them all to me?

That's anyone who's offered, like Kevin, and anyone that hasn't. And anyone else, in case I missed anyone out :D

If anyone who was there late-ish has got one of me as the Underground Masker then that would be especially cool. My email address on my profile works fine.

EDIT: Except in some cabinet reshuffle, my email address isn't there any more!

OK, tubeguru's photos are here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/lazza747/s ... 142384119/

For the photographically-minded among you, the pictures were taken using a Canon EOS 350D camera, fitted with a 28-105mm zoom lens. The camera was set to ISO 200 or 400 (the grainier pictures are 400). I used aperture priority for most shots, but a couple were on shutter priority, especially the outdoor one. All photos were shot in RAW mode.

I only used the flash for one or two of the shots (I tend not to use it at all indoors).

The pictures have been converted to black and white using Photoshop CS2's Lab Color feature, and the levels adjusted accordingly to give a nice solid contrast. In all cases, the photos have had almost 50% of their luminosity removed.

All pictures are copyright me (honestly) so no nicking them without asking me first as I tend to take this sort of thing seriously.

Enjoy!

I was most dismayed to find that the starting station was only two away from last year's one.

How about a complete ban on any starting station being on the southern side of the Circle Line for next year?

That's the luck of the draw, you cant ban a station that hasnt yet been used....
I dont think anyone on the day was dismayed (possibly relieved though :D )
Even with it being so close to last year I dont think anyone followed there 2005 routes :?:

Yeah, that did sound a bit of a shame.

Pics are excellent, TG, as are the captions!

Anyone else got pictures? Post them!!
