GWR

Post by tractakid »

Well, we now have a situation where the Guinness World Record is the slowest known time for the current configuration.

What happened to the "add a bit of time for the extra bit" rule? If I wasn't so busy I'd be down there sharpish!
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.

Or, we just ignore the commercially driven organisation who have shown incompetence, and do our own thing. I see no value whatsoever in being recognised by them.

Have they eased the requirements for a GWR. According to an article I read, Kate Jones the current record holder for the NY Subway, she only had to record footage when she wasn't on a train as opposed to the full 22 hours
Former record holder; Repton 3 Oceans high score 36916
Sheffield Supertram: 3:17:29
London Underground (243 stations): 18:06:49
Vienna U Bahn (FNC): 5:04:47

I sent an application off a couple of days ago so hopefully I'll find out relatively soon what the current requirements are.

Sorry admin. Basically taking my reasoning from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0twDETh6QaI&t=3s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5YzeUWJ2xk for anyone curious. Not saying these criticisms apply to how Tube Challenge record is distributed, but that it makes me more broadly totally uninterested in the whole organisation. Nothing against anyone who does want a GWR though!

Have just applied for a GWR for my 18:08:13 which I think is also the quickest unofficial time so at least hopefully some unity between the two lists can now be restored!

Not quite, as key_cauliflower has set a time of 17:51:55, but it doesn't sound as if he's planning to submit it to Guinness.

Yep, that's right, but if anything I was just doing it for a bit of fun and while I do want to challenge for sub-16 hours some day, I don't ever see myself submitting evidence to Guinness, it's just too much hassle and honestly takes all of the fun out of it... :?
