Places to stay in Chesham

I'm thinking of (fitness permitting) attempting the FNC after Easter, starting from Chesham.

However, a web search isn't turning up anywhere to stay in Chesham overnight.

Is anyone aware of suitable accommodation in Chesham?

I tried to find some for mine, the problem was of course getting back from Heathrow late at night which was why I took a car up to Chesham and stayed at Heathrow

The other problem you might face is the same one I did which was a lack of signal staff on that section of the Metropolitan line which forced me to start at Norwood

Getting back from Heathrow is easy for me - the RailAir bus back to Reading keeps running until the small hours. And if I have to bail early, I can get home from Paddington, Ealing Broadway or Richmond.

By contrast, getting back to Reading from Chesham is very difficult late at night!

I have two sets of timings, one of which takes the 5:13 from Chesham, and the other the 5:53. The 5:53 start effectively "catches up" with the 5:13 route. As I'm just hoping to get a time on the board, I'm planning to go for the earlier start, with the later route as a backup.

AirBNB maybe?

Or stay in Rickmansworth and get the very first train of the day up to Chesham before starting?

Staying in Rickmansworth doesn't work for the 0513 as that train runs empty to start.

I think you may need a taxi, Richard, from somewhere else.

This is basiclly rehashing a previous answer, last time I did a FNC I stayed at Heathrow T4 premier inn, then drove to chesham for around 05:10. Took about 35 minutes to get there I seem to recall. Yes it was an earlier start but it's a sweet feeling knowing once you get to heathrow (if that's where you finish) you've got a bed not too long away.
