Welcome to the 2022/23 Random 15 Championship. I am your host (commonly known to regulars as the BERC when I am hosting Random 15 challenges). The Random 15 challenge is just that, visit 15 randomly selected stations that feature on the Tube Map (usually within zones 1-2 and using the Underground network only). There will be certain rounds within the championship that are a variation of this such as adding an extra zone or network e.g. DLR onto the challenge. So are you ready to take on the Random 15 championship?

The rules and scoring are unchanged from previous seasons but if anyone is not familiar with them, or needs a refresh, you can view them here: http://www.explorerticket.co.uk/tubecha ... 5rules.htm

Here are the details for round 4:

When: Saturday 11th March 2023 12:30 UK local time.
Starting at: VAUXHALL (meet on the LU concourse by barrier line).
Variant: Normal round. 15 LU stations in zones 1 and 2 only.
Time limit: 4 hours.

Closures affecting the challenge (correct at time of posting):
--Circle/H&C: No service Hammersmith - Edgware Road.
--Waterloo & City line: Usual scheduled weekend closure of the line.

Other closures to be aware of:
--c2c: All trains terminate at Fenchurch Street via West Ham.
--Crossrail: No service Whitechapel - Shenfield and reduced frequency at the western end.
--Greater Anglia: No service Liverpool Street - Shenfield (and beyond).
--Southern: No service London Bridge - Streatham Common via Peckham Rye.
--Thameslink: No service Herne Hill - Wimbledon/Sutton loop.

After event social we will be as usual in the Bricklayers arms on Gresse Street off TCR (the road).

All welcome!

Heading out from my friend's house this morning to do a recce, I slipped on a wet paving slab and fell on my elbow. Unfortunately got a fracture and waiting for surgery, so won't make it tomorrow.

Have a great day, good luck, and hope you all finish in one piece... I'm looking at you, Rob!

Blimey, do any of us not have some sort of injury or ailment at the moment?

I was hoping to take part in the challenge today but wasn't able to organise the journey for various reasons. :( Looking forward to the next one.

I think a lot of us have reached the age where you stop bouncing

I can remember a challenge some years ago where about half a dozen of us were hobbling from Hampstead Heath to Belsize Park. As the route goes round two sides of a triangle, I queried whether there might be a shortcut inside the Royal Free Hospital.

I think it was GU who said that there might well be, but that if we went in there in our conditions, they probably wouldn't let us out again!
