Is this now not the case I can't see on TFL anything about this

For the August train strikes I used National Express from Huddersfield to London. Long but unexpectedly comfortable.

Don't know if that's an option for anyone this time? (obviously not starting from Huddersfield  )
Not a plus one

And Met line looks like it's up and running again too. Maybe they've postponed the work due to the train strikes?

I will need to check if parts of the Underground running over Network Rail tracks (such as the Bakerloo north of Queen's Park) would be able to operate.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Parkrun is kinda going to depend on how my knee is as I've done something to it at work this week and it's a little bit swollen at the moment!

Very sad news. However, does this mean that we can revert back to Plan A?

I think that its probably best to wait until they have confirmed the date of the funeral.

The funeral is almost certainly on Monday week, as 10 days after she died is the day before and the funeral can't happen on a Sunday.
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.
Doesn't any more.

The funeral is now confirmed for Monday 19 September.

London and the tube in central London, particularly around Green Park is likely to be VERY busy, but apart from that it looks like everything should be good to go.

...and the rail strikes have been called off, so... back to plan A?
In which case:

Attending: GU, A2, Lotg, RhysJ
Parkrun (Bexley): GU, A2
Spoons The New Cross Turnpike: GU, A2, Rob

Made the assumption here that if Rob was going to go to Spoons in North London that he'll also be able to get to one in South London :)

Following all that's happened over the last few weeks, can it be confirmed that this will still be taking place as planned?

I also note that there are now no planned engineering works on Underground lines this weekend. Still a few things on the Overground though.

Now looks like everything except the Waterloo & City line is running.

TfL advice on travelling around London for the next few days.

Specific advice around dealing with the crowds (most of it of the no-shit-Sherlock variety):
Tube, rail and walking will be the best way to get around central London at this time.
  • Tube trains will run normally
  • Some stations will be busier than usual, and some short-term safety measures such as queuing, closures, non-stopping or changes to the way customers enter or exit a station may be necessary
  • Stations expected to be busier include: Westminster, Green Park, Charing Cross, Embankment, Victoria, Waterloo, St James's Park, Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch
  • If you do not need step-free access, avoid Green Park Tube station if possible. Other Tube stations are a short walk from Buckingham Palace - these include Victoria, Piccadilly Circus and St James' Park
I think as long as we're respectable (respectful?) in the crowded parts of the network (no bundling over little old ladies to make a tight connection etc), we should be ok to go. Those of us doing the Cannon Street run on Friday can always report back if it's impossible to get around.
Not a plus one
