Claim the New Configuration (272) Record

I'm surprised nobody's done this yet. Surely it just takes someone who has
  • done a FNC soon before the closing of T4
  • visited Nine Elms and BPS stations since opening
  • a slightly self-deprecating sense of humour
to claim the inaugural record for the new configuration of "18 months, 12 days..." or whatever.

As far as I know (and correct me if I'm wrong) there is no limit to how long you can take to complete the challenge. I used to think it was a 24hr thing or the same calendar day but that doesn't seem to be a requirement. The start and end times would also be known (to within a minute at least) for those who travelled on the first service from BPS which I know some folks here did. Oyster history could help too.

So does anyone claim it?

I'm not sure I'm worthy of this auspicious record! So if it turns out to be me I shall leave it unclaimed.

Even so...

824 days, 7 hours about about 15 minutes.

Would do it as part of Tube Olympics or for Charity - but never ever again for a GWR - the evidence now required just beggars belief and iq quite frankly ridiculous

If the challenge does carryover to a second day you can suspend the challenge but the clock still runs if I remember.

But does the rule about public transport still apply during the suspension, I.e. Could you take a taxi which normally wouldn't be allowed

If you resume where you left off then why not?

Oh, well, I didn't, so my claim is invalid.

It makes sense that this would never be an advantage. Maybe getting a lift home for supplies & a toilet break if you live near a tube station before restarting? But perhaps that's still ok.

That means all it would take is for someone to revisit their latest finishing station and make a beeline for Battersea!

In the world of Guinness World Records common sense doesn't apply or exist!

Ha! So I've heard. I don't expect anyone to have a continuous video of the last 2 years (they'd need something like 20 terabytes) so I guess it would just be for a forum record

I know that there are some stations that I haven't been back to since I started my labyrinth quest on Sunday 7 February 2016, so from then until 23 October 2021 is 2086 days!

After Adham's misadventure with the folks at Guinness, don't quite understand 🍎 vs. 🍏 instead of 🍎 v 🍊. 16 hrs. With Battersea is not possible.
So Guinness must go back to add/removal resets.

It's all bollox anyway, there should NOT be a maximum time - it's a complete reset and the times would then naturally come down organically anyway - Or someone could hit a corker of a time on first GWR attempt......
