I'm surprised nobody's done this yet. Surely it just takes someone who has
done a FNC soon before the closing of T4
visited Nine Elms and BPS stations since opening
a slightly self-deprecating sense of humour
to claim the inaugural record for the new configuration of "18 months, 12 days..." or whatever.
As far as I know (and correct me if I'm wrong) there is no limit to how long you can take to complete the challenge. I used to think it was a 24hr thing or the same calendar day but that doesn't seem to be a requirement. The start and end times would also be known (to within a minute at least) for those who travelled on the first service from BPS which I know some folks here did. Oyster history could help too.
So does anyone claim it?
2nd place All-Lines: 36:38
1 FNC attempt: 252 stations
Would do it as part of Tube Olympics or for Charity - but never ever again for a GWR - the evidence now required just beggars belief and iq quite frankly ridiculous
Twice former full network GWR holder and former Zone 1 Olympic and World Record holder with The Raven and Soupie Tube personality of the year 2009 Twice Winter Olympic Biathlon Gold Medalist with The Beer Baron 2008 All Lines Olympic Gold
If the challenge does carryover to a second day you can suspend the challenge but the clock still runs if I remember.
But does the rule about public transport still apply during the suspension, I.e. Could you take a taxi which normally wouldn't be allowed

If you resume where you left off then why not?
It makes sense that this would never be an advantage. Maybe getting a lift home for supplies & a toilet break if you live near a tube station before restarting? But perhaps that's still ok.
That means all it would take is for someone to revisit their latest finishing station and make a beeline for Battersea!

Ha! So I've heard. I don't expect anyone to have a continuous video of the last 2 years (they'd need something like 20 terabytes) so I guess it would just be for a forum record

I know that there are some stations that I haven't been back to since I started my labyrinth quest on Sunday 7 February 2016, so from then until 23 October 2021 is 2086 days!
Full Network: Three completions, Best time: 17:18:18 - thanks Glen, Andrew and Rhys! Former DLR 45 station record holder (with Glen, Andi and Stevo) - 2h:08m:57s

After Adham's misadventure with the folks at Guinness, don't quite understand vs. instead of v . 16 hrs. With Battersea is not possible.
So Guinness must go back to add/removal resets.

in your opinion its NOT!
It's all bollox anyway, there should NOT be a maximum time - it's a complete reset and the times would then naturally come down organically anyway - Or someone could hit a corker of a time on first GWR attempt......

This week I was staying at Hatfields which luckily is nearby the London Underground and so 622 days after I had started, I finally visited the eight stations in Zones 7-9.
I did carry on a bit to see if I could have made it in 2022 if I had started at Chesham and hadn't made two mistakes, namely not getting the c2c at Upminster and failing to do the Hammersmith branch early
And surprisingly the answer was possibly. I might have reached between 268 and 271 - I was doing this on a Monday so no chance in hell of getting Kensington (Olympia). If I sacrificed Mill Hill East, I could have used the extra time to do the Richmond branch
Starting from Chesham made me realise how long it took to do the first bit up to Preston Road. I was regularly waiting for over five minutes for my next train, had to take a Chiltern train from Amersham to go further down the line, but of course I had to get off at Rickmansworth to go one stop on a Met train to Moor Park.
Then at Watford a train pulled out just before I arrived - a circumstance that would reoccur later in the day at Uxbridge, which was a pain and I also had to wait at Aldgate for five minutes because my train was held in the platform
Also unlike in 2022, I had to use the Overground between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queens Park, well I didn't HAVE to as a Bakerloo line train was 2 minutes away but I was obeying the rule of getting the first train. It was on this Overground train, I got my ticket inspected. In all my travels on the Underground that has never happened - and you could argue hasn't quite yet technically
It was a great day, but the heat was stifling - it did make me wonder how the hell I did a full day on the previous occasion
