W&C restarting full M-F service

Post by DavidC »

TfL has now confirmed that starting Monday 22nd November, the Waterloo & City line will operate a full service from 6am in the morning to 00:30 at night. At peak times, between 6:30am and 9:30am and between 4pm and 7pm, it will run every three minutes, and at off-peak times it will run every five minutes.

Saturday services on the Waterloo & City line will not be reintroduced for the foreseeable future. Pre-pandemic demand for the Saturday service on the line was low at around one-sixth of demand on an average weekday. Excepting special occurrences, the line is normally closed on Sundays anyway.

TfL has now confirmed that the line between Waterloo and Bank will reopen on Monday 10th January 2022, and that the service will operate between 6.07am and 10.13am and between 3.23pm and 7.11pm on weekdays only, offering a link during the main commuter hours. There will be no service on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Waterloo & City line had been expected to reopen imminently, as the Bank branch of the Northern line will close from Saturday 15th January until mid-May 2022. That will see more people diverted onto other lines, and to help with crowding issues, it was presumed that the Waterloo & City line would be reopened by then.

I might need the drain on Saturday 15th Jan but this looks a little muddled? Are they saying it might be open then?

It says weekday only, not Saturday and Sunday. So, it will be open on Friday 14th and Monday 17th, but not Saturday 15th.
