What on earth is up with the Met Line??
Yesterday a covid case in the Amersham signalbox shut down the ENTIRE line for all of yesterday (do you not have replacement signallers??) and just now I’ve got to Finchley Road to find the Met Line platforms closed. As in, Tensa-barrier and “non-stopping” on the DMI levels of closed. Oh, and it’s saying “good service” now!

What's happened here, Rhys, is that you've come down with a case of Ignoramus Maximus ...
An acquaintance of mine works on the Met line, and so I asked them what exactly was going on yesterday. Here's the gist of it.

Thanks. That's absolutely fascinating.
Doesn't explain why TFL and Chiltern deliberately lied and said it was in Amersham, though!
Oh, and according to a member of staff I spoke to at Wembley Park last night, the platform at Finchley Road has melted in the heat. Perhaps they could have told us this before Baker Street, so we could change there rather than Wembley Park...

I have no idea how they came up with the Amersham story - maybe crossed wires.hopeful traveller wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 17:19 Thanks. That's absolutely fascinating.

Chiltern would only be repeating what they'd been told by London Underground!hopeful traveller wrote: ↑19 Jul 2021, 17:19 Doesn't explain why TFL and Chiltern deliberately lied and said it was in Amersham, though!
