Thanks for this - I've been getting withdrawal symptoms, what with only setting them and not having ones to guess!

It made a nice little challenge for me over the last 20 minutes or so... answer submitted.

Alright then, about time for a bit of help on Station Golf. It's been going for more than 40 days.

Station Golf is within 40 miles of Station Foxtrot.
And the compass-bearing direction of the camera shot of Station Golf is within 40 degrees of the compass-bearing direction of the camera shot of Station Foxtrot.

Well, that's two hints to two stations to work now!

I'll probably answer Station Golf at the weekend (with Station Hotel lined up and ready to go.)

Time’s up! So from the hint, we were looking for a station within 40 miles of Station Foxtrot. That is, within 40 miles of Liverpool Lime Street. And well done to everyone who guessed that this was Blackpool North, and (for the bonus) that I took the photo from the top of Blackpool Tower.

‘Everyone’ being trains500 and tubeguru.

Right, I feel I need to spend a few nights in a Station Hotel. Coming soon…

Station golf + should now be easier, as the crow flies it’s around 200 miles away from Blackpool north as per my hint

Station Hotel is here!

Do you fancy an overnight stay in a Station Hotel? Maybe, but I don’t think there’s a hotel attached to this station.

• Name Station Hotel.
• What major landmark can be found around 1¼ miles north of Station Hotel?

PMs please! 😊

2nd Hint: The train left waterloo and it would arrive back at waterloo some time later without the driver changing ends. During this jourey it will pass through station Golf+

And whilst the hints are rolling, Station Hotel has been going so well that it's already time for its hint! Here we go:

If you want to make a journey from Station Hotel to Station Golf, you’d be well advised to use a mode of transport other than train.

Station Hotel - last chance

This one's gone so well I think I might answer it this afternoon. Last chance for submissions!

Righto, time to check out of Station Hotel; it was only a short stay....

From the hint – it’s best not to use the train if you want to travel from Station Hotel to Station Golf. Yes, they’re that close! Tram/bus/foot, or any combination of these would suit you better. (Or car, taxi, bike, skateboard etc….)

Well, Station Golf was Blackpool North, and it’s only 1⅔ miles as the crow flies to Station Hotel, which is Golf’s sister-station – Blackpool South! (I photographed it three days before I took the Blackpool North photo in May.)

As for the bonus – the major landmark around 1¼ miles north of this station – it is of course, Blackpool Tower again! Yes, the same bonus answer as Station Golf! (What a trickster I am… 😊)

Well done to EastActionWoman, trains500, tubeguru, and michael_churchill, all getting both station and bonus correct.

Okay, I think we need a change from breezy Blackpool. Things will soon be hotting up as we head to Station India, watch this space…

Station India

Well, we’ve got lots of nice Victorian structures on our railway network, haven’t we? Some metal, some masonry. The building at Station India is of the masonry variety, and it doesn’t disappoint. (Other than the fact it doesn’t function as a station building any more, but is now a pub. The trains run the other side of the building, as you’ve probably worked out.)

• Name Station India.
• There’s another noteworthy Victorian structure which is located 6.4 miles (or slightly less…) as the crow flies from Station India. This one is of the mainly metal variety. What is the structure I'm referring to?

I guess this may be a bit trickier than recent ones, but who knows? Surprise me! PMs as usual. 😊
